Herpes Hotline

The National Herpes Hotline (NHH) is operated by ASHA as part of the Herpes Resource Center (HRC). The hotline, which receives over 60,000 calls a year, provides accurate information and appropriate referrals to anyone concerned about herpes.

The Herpes Resource Center focuses on increasing education, public awareness, and support to anyone concerned about herpes. Since its formation in 1979, the HRC has helped over 1 million people. The work of the HRC is funded primarily through individual gifts, subscriptions and product sales, with additional support in the form of corporate contributions. Today, people continue to depend on ASHA and the HRC for educational information about herpes.

The National Herpes Hotline is supported by Trained Health Communication Specialists that are available to address questions related to transmission, prevention and treatment of herpes simplex virus (HSV).

The National Herpes Hotline also provides support for emotional issues surrounding herpes such as self-esteem and partner communication.

The herpes hotline is open from 9am to 6pm, ET, Monday through Friday

Not only is the Herpes Resource Center responsible for the herpes hotline, they are also responsible for helping in the formation of support groups in nearly every major city in the United States.

If you are searching for help via a herpes hotline, and find it is unable to meet your needs at that moment, there are other resources available. Just take a look at the support network available through Herpesonline.org
